www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's swimming took to the pool Sunday on the third and final day of competition at the 2023 CUNYAC Championships hosted by Lehman College inside The APEX.
Alex Winter generated five points in the men's 100-yard freestyle event by touching the wall with the fourth-fastest time in the event. Winter's time of 56.28 gave him 16 points at the 2023 CUNYAC Championship meet and 69 for his career. His fourth-place finish topped his previous best of fifth place at the 2020 Championships.
On the women's side, Nayelly Rojas trimmed her season-best time of 1:53.75 by 4.14 in the 100-yard freestyle to place 21st at 1:49.61. Rojas' performances in the 50 and 100-freestyle events combined for an improvement of 6.58 between the two events.
"I pushed through my obstacles and worked daily to become a better version of myself. Never quit and just keep persevering!" - said Rojas.
