BRONXVILLE, NY --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's swimming claimed its first victory of the campaign, triumphing over the Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons 63-27 in a non-conference road meet Saturday at Campbell Sports Center. The Cardinal women fell 82-13 in the corresponding meet. With the result, the York men have now defeated Sarah Lawrence in three consecutive meets.
- Darien Davis led the way for the Cardinals with a standout performance, securing a pair of individual victories in the 100-yard freestyle (1:59.43) and the 50-yard breaststroke (1:03.64) to total 18 points.
- Munab Hasnain contributed 13 points, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (40:11) and a runner-up showing in the 50-yard butterfly (45:83).
- Lukas Rivera added another first-place result for York with a win in the 50-yard backstroke (1:01.47, 9 points) and posted a second-place time in the 100-yard IM (2:04.10, 4 points).
- Brandon Smith supplemented the scoring with eight points, producing second-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (1:10.25) and 50-yard backstroke (1:39.54).
- The quartet of Smith, Davis, Hasnain and Rivers combined to score 11 points in a victorious 200-yard medley relay performance in 4:01.31, 1st place.
- For the women, Jordanna Jervis accumulated 13 points across two events. Jervis placed first in the 50-yard backstroke (1:40.48, 9 points) and touched the wall second in the 50-yard freestyle at 1:34.17 (4 points).
