www.YORKATHLETICS.com)Â York College men's and women's swimming opened their CUNYAC season Monday evening with a matchup against host Brooklyn College Bulldogs (M: 7-0, 2-0 CUNYAC / W: 2-6, 2-1 CUNYAC) inside the West Quad Center Pool. The Cardinals fell 159-14 in the men's meet, while the women dropped a 141-13 decision to the Bulldogs.
How It Happened
- In the women's meet, Elizabeth Astudillo captured the 100-yard freestyle with a winning margin of 0.59 seconds, earning nine points with a top time of 1:48.92.
- Astudillo added a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 38.60 to secure four additional points.
- On the men's side, York picked up points in the 100-yard backstroke, where Wood-by Paulemont's third-place time of 1:50.33 (3 points) stood as the men's top individual performance of the day, while Brandon Smith followed in fourth at 3:07.91 (two points).
- Lukas Rivera recorded a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.28 (one point).
- In relay action, the team of Wood-by Paulemont, Tyrone Morris, Munab Hasnain, and Rivera secured a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 3:21.94 to earn four points.Â
- Closing out the meet, the quartet of Paulemont, Morris, Smith, and Hasnain teamed up for a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, touching the wall in 2:27.09 for another four points.

The Cardinals (M: 1-1, 0-1 CUNYAC / W: 0-2, 0-1 CUNYAC) return to the pool on January 5 with a home meet against Baruch College Bearcats (M: 4-1, 0-0 CUNYAC / W: 2-3, 0-1 CUNYAC) in a home meet from York College Natatorium.
