York College women’s tennis continues the month-long celebration of Cardinal seniors for 2020-21 fall, winter and spring sports

JAMAICA, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) Throughout the month of April, yorkathletics.com will highlight those who have given us everything they had on their respective playing fields with senior features for each team's 2020-21 senior class.  With the cancellation of sports for the 2020-21 academic year, York athletics will celebrate and recognize our seniors online and on social media with our #YorkSeniorDay.  Today, head coach Gemma Alexander-Mozeak celebrates senior members Alyssa King and Rimsha Razi of the women's tennis team for their dedication to York athletics.  The duo were proud members of the 2019 squad that advanced the program to the postseason for the first time since 2014.

Alyssa King - 2020 Womens Tennis Senior Day -WR-

King, a local product of Jamaica, graduated from Springfield Gardens High School.  She played singles and doubles in eight matches during the 2019 season, her lone season of play.  King played first doubles with CUNYAC first-team All-Star honoree Geraldine Guese for eight matches while also seeing time at fourth (six matches) and fifth singles (two matches).  She notched a win by default against Albertus Magnus College in the regular-season finale before competing against John Jay College in the CUNYAC Championship first-round.  King also contributed as a member of the softball program in 2016 and 2018.  Following the fall 2020 semester, King graduated with a degree in movement science.

Rimsha Razi - 2020 Womens Tennis Senior Day -WR-

A native of Queens, Razi graduated from Information Technology High School.  Razi played in all 18 of York's matches from 2018-19.  She was named a 2020 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Scholar-Athlete selection after seeing time in nine matches at both No. 3 singles and doubles slots during the 2019 campaign.  Razi opened the 2019 season with a win by default against St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn).  During her first season as a Cardinal in 2018, Razi saw time in all three doubles positions, and competed in second, third and fifth singles.  Razi, who was a member of the women's track & field team during the 2019-20 season, will graduate with a degree in aviation management.
