www.YORKATHLETICS.com) YYork College women's tennis opened its 2025 season Thursday afternoon with a non-conference home matchup against the University of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (1-1), earning a hard-fought win at No. 3 singles but ultimately falling 6-1 from York College Courts.
Julia Wyman claimed her fourth career victory, but her first at the No. 3 level, outlasting Divana Carrillo 11-9 in a super tiebreaker.
Gabriela Pirondi almost made it two singles wins for the Cardinals, falling in a narrow super tiebreaker of her own on the No. 2 court.
Franeidy Mauricio made her first-ever appearance on the No. 1 singles level, claiming four games.
Doubles partners for the first time, Pirondi and Wyman won five games on the No. 1 court. Maurico and
Melanie Guerrero took home four games on the No. 2 court.
