www.YORKATHLETICS.com)Â York College men's and women's swimming opened their CUNYAC scheduled Saturday afternoon against the Brooklyn College Bulldogs inside West Quad Center Pool.Â

The Cardinal men fell 41-9 to the Bulldogs (4-3) as the women were outpaced by the final count of 62-3 to Brooklyn (2-7). In a non-conference matchup against the Bard College Raptors, York was edged 26-15 in the men's contest while the women were defeated 80-3.
Individually, Alex Winter finished second in the men's 50 yard freestyle (24.59), 100 yard freestyle (56.50), and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:14.97). Nayelly Rojas and Micaela Reyes alternated between fifth and sixth place finishes for the women. Rojas placed fifth in the women's 50 yard freestyle, fifth in the 100 yard backstroke, and sixth in the 100 yard freestyle. Reyes finished fifth in the women's 100 yard freestyle, and sixth in both the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke.

The Cardinals (M: 0-3, 0-1 CUNYAC; W: 0-1, 0-1 CUNYAC) travel Tuesday (Jan. 17) to take on John Jay College and Lehman College in a CUNYAC women's swimming road meet starting at 6 p.m. inside John Jay Pool.
