FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College freshman Julia Wyman has been recognized by the CUNYAC as a member of the 2023-24 Women's Swimming Sportsmanship Team, announced Wednesday by league officials. With this distinction, York has placed seven members on the Sportsmanship Team since 2014-15.  

The Queens native starred in the CUNYAC Championships, setting season highs in the 100-yard freestyle (1:04.51, 8th) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:53.54, 9th). Wyman also placed fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:16.05), helping her generate five points at the year-end event. Since 2011, her result in the 500-yard freestyle tops York's charts and the times in the 100-yard freestyle and butterfly rank second among York competitors in the championships.  

During a rebuilding year in which the program competed with a small roster, Wyman was York's lone competitor at every women's meet, Wyman swam in seven of the eight meets and continued to lead by example while showing the utmost respect for her teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and staff.
