JAMAICA, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's basketball head coach Anastasia Bitis announced Thursday the celebratory signing of center Destiny Bradshaw for the 2020-21 season.  Bradshaw is a 5-foot-11 Bronx native who joins the Cardinals from KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) NYC College Prep High School.

"I chose York because it is close enough for me to commute to, but far enough for me to feel like I'm in a different place.  I am also excited for all the activities and to represent York through basketball." – Destiny Bradshaw

Bradshaw, who played two years of varsity basketball for the Bulldogs, will study accounting at York.

Bradshaw joins a York recruiting class that so far includes Alicia Gumbs of Hillcrest High School (read more) and Bri'Anna Jones of Nassau Community College (read more), who were recently announced as Cardinal commitments for 2020-21.

York returned to the postseason for the first time since 2015-16 and advanced to the CUNYAC semifinals in a season that saw the Cardinals register the program's highest win total (11) since the 2009-10 campaign.  The Cardinals are led by returning center Mac-Dege Dessources, who was named a CUNYAC second-team All-Star following a sophomore campaign that saw her rank third in the nation in rebounds per game (13.4) and 16th in double-doubles (16).
