www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's track & field opened their 2025 outdoor campaign Saturday at The Big Hurt, producing 11 Top-10 results from DaSilva Memorial Field.
Men's Performance Breakdown
- Reigning victory for the Cardinals was Richard Reyes, who ran the 2,000-meter steeplechase in 8:02.35. Reyes grabbed fourth place in the 3,000-meters run in 10:23.57.
- Bryan Godette showed out in the high jump, winning the event by landing a distance of 1.95 meters.
- In the triple jump, Chris Merilan leaped 11.42 meters to claim second place. Merilan also collected second place by racing a time of 1:07.51 in the 400-meter Hurdles.
- Ernest Bawilliam paced York in both the 1,500 and 3,000-meter run events, finishing seventh (4:49.45) and sixth (11:02.04), respectively.
- Michael Zhang also turned in a pair of top-10 finishes, clocking a time of 5:02.00 (10th place) in the 1,500-meter run, and completing the 3,000-meters race in 11:36.35 (eighth place).
- York also received solid performances from Bryan Ortiz in the 800-meter event (2:30.21, 11th place), and Shirra Jenkins in the 400-meter run (59.12, 12th place).
