FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College's Richard Reyes has been voted by the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) as a member of the 2025 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Sportsmanship Team. 

Reyes follows Glenver Stuart's Sportsmanship Team selection last campaign and is the fourth Cardinal in as many seasons to receive a CUNYAC Sportsmanship Team laurel. This honor is also the Bronx native's second consecutive CUNYAC Sportsmanship Team selection, as he landed on the squad for the 2024-25 indoor campaign. 

"Richard is the hype man of the team. If someone is feeling a little uneasy about the meet that day, Richard always has words of encouragement to give to the team. Richard also supports athletes from other schools. If someone is coming in dead last place, Richard is there clapping and cheering them on to finish the race."-coach Aisha Bruce

A fixture in all six meets this season, Reyes tallied career-bests in the 800-meter, 1,500-meter, 5,000-meter, and 10,000-meter distance events. He also garnered one of York's four bronze medals at the CUNYAC Championship with a career-best time of 12:30.73 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and helped York to a fifth-place result in the 4x400-meter relay, gaining two more points.
