Bryan Ortiz was chosen as a member of the 2025-26 CUNYAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete to Watch group on Thursday as league officials promoted the five-member list. Running in his fourth indoor campaign for the Cardinals, this is Ortiz's first CUNYAC distinction.
The Brooklyn native ran in five meets last campaign, generating top-25 CUNYAC times in the 400-meter (1:02.36, 23rd) and 800-meter (2:42.07, 18th) events during the Big Apple Invitational (Feb. 8). Running in the Distance Medley Relay at the CUNYAC Championships, he helped the squad accumulate seven points and deliver a silver medal.
In the preseason coaches poll, York is picked fifth.

Gunning for their third straight indoor championship, the Medgar Evers College Cougars garnered 16 points and four first-place votes. Hunter College claimed the last first-place nod, and the Cardinals received five points. York's eight-meet schedule begins with Wagner College's Seahawk Shootout on December 12 at Ocean Breeze Park Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
The conference's year-end event occurs on March 1 at the Armory, as first-year coach Eamon Sheerin attempts to reenergize the program.
