JAMAICA, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) With the emphasis on amplifying the student-athlete experience, York College shines a weekly spotlight on a featured Cardinal to provide a look inside their bio. Taking center stage in this week's feature is Bryce Haynes, a first-year member of the men's basketball team.

Haynes, who completed his first season with the basketball program in February, is majoring in entrepreneurship. Starting in 13 of his 23 games, he placed fourth on the team in assists per game and three-pointers made despite averaging only 18.1 minutes per contest. 

A composed floor general, the Brooklyn native marked his college debut with seven assists versus St. Joseph's (L.I) in November. That was one of five occasions where Haynes recorded at least four dimes. Haynes had his best passing night in an overtime thriller versus Hunter College (Feb. 14), pacing the Cardinal offense with a team-best 10 assists. 

Scoring-wise, the freshman dazzled in a road victory against Medgar Evers College (Jan. 26), pouring in a team-leading four triples on his way to a career-high 13 points. This stat line, along with his previous output against John Jay College (Jan. 23), capped off a two-game stretch where Haynes averaged 9.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest on 66.7 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Overall, the talented guard scored 56 points, canned 10 threes, and assisted his teammates 51 times in his debut campaign.
