PISCATAWAY, NJ --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's outdoor track & field participated Saturday against Division I, II, and III athletes at the Rutgers University Relays from Bauer Track & Field Complex in Piscataway, New Jersey. Out of 11 opportunities, the Cardinals produced eight season-best results.
"Today, the York College athletes competed very well. Our athletes are rounding into good shape for championships."-said head coach Jamal Wilkerson.
Ryan Lahens shined for the men, posting top-five conference finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter events. In the 100-meter dash, Lahens clocked in at 11.47, good for third in the CUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Performance List. The Brooklyn native crossed the finish line at 23.26 in the 200-meter category, placing fourth in the CUNYAC hierarchy.
Kenzai Sinclar also ran in the 100 and 200-meter events, equalling his career-best time of 14.30 in the 100-meter and setting a career-high 29.58 in the 200-meter.
Competing in the 800-meter,
Glenver Stuart crossed the finish line at 2:09.16, good for second in the conference standings. Stuart also ran in the 1500-meter event, posting a top-10 CUNYAC time of 4:53.66.
Ahmed Algendy returned to the shot put competition, throwing a career-best 9.14 meters.
Debuting in the 200-meter competition for the women,
Emmaly Merced clocked in at 32.41. She continued her solid outdoor campaign in the 800-meter dash, crossing the finish line at 2:59.62.
Kresanta Jones surpassed her career-best results in the 100-meter (16.92) and 200-meter (40.04) events.
