FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College's Katryna Francois was recognized Tuesday as the CUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week following her performances at two meets during the April 15-21 reporting period.  The weekly honor is Francois' fourth-career and as she followed up last week's CUNYAC Athlete of the Week distinction.  

Francois opened the week April 19 at the All-American Meet hosted by East Stroudsburg University, where she posted a pair of top-15 finishes, claiming 11th place (1:08.69) in the 400-meter dash and 15th place in the 200-meter dash (29.56).

The Queens native then competed April 20 at the Jack Maloney Invitational hosted by Southern Connecticut State University.  Francois set a personal-record to place 11th in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 13.52 to sit second on the CUNYAC Performance List.  After crossing the finish line 14th overall in the 200-meter dash, Francois earned herself the second-best time in the CUNYAC at 28.05.  Francois contributed to a seventh-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay with a season-best time of 58.68, which ranks third in the CUNYAC.

In addition to her 100 and 200-meter dash, along with the 4x100-meter relay results, Francois also ranks among the CUNYAC's top performers in the 400-meter dash (2nd, 1:05.52), 800-meter run (3rd, 2:49.64), 1,500-meter run (7th, 6:38.63), 4x400-meter relay (3rd, 5:16.09) and long jump (14th, 3.63 meters)
