www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's indoor track & field medaled in three events, combining to set seven personal records Sunday at the CUNYAC Championships inside Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory.
"Today was a really good day for York College men's and women's track program. Even though we are still rebuilding the program, their performances show that we are taking a step in the right direction."-said head coach Jamal Wilkerson
Zaria Neptune impressed for the women, achieving personal records in the 60-meter and 200-meter events. Neptune's 8.80 resulted in a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash to rank fifth on the CUNYAC Performance List. Medaling with second place in the 200-meter, Neptune's 29.15 score leveled her with Hunter College's Ayayo Orwa for the second-fastest CUNYAC time this campaign.
Bisola Babanumi followed in the 200 with a PR by .02 to register at 38.83.

In the 400-meter final,
Emmaly Merced clocked in at 1:14:03 (6th place) to produce one point. Competing in the 800-meter dash, Merced crossed the finish line at 2:57.38 (6th place), adding two more points to York's total. Both finishes were season-highs for the senior and top-10 results in the CUNYAC rankings.
"800 is my thing. That is what I mainly focus on and I did under three minutes, and that is what I was really proud of."-said Merced
In the 4x400 relay, York medaled with a third-place finish as Neptune,
Gema Guillen, Babanumi and Merced teamed up to clock in at 5:28.37. York's 4x400 relay squad has now finished top-3 at four-consecutive CUNYAC Championship meets.
On the men's side,
Glenver Stuart smashed a personal record in the 800-meter dash to garner a third-place medal at 2:08.65, earning six points for the Cardinals.
"It just feels great knowing that I am in the top three, and that I can compete with the rest of the teams that are in our region."-stated Stuart
In the 60-meter prelims,
Ryan Lahens came close to a personal record by .01, as he finished third in 7.33.
"Having the ability to come back and run two meets, I really got my feet wet, shows me what I have to do to improve for outdoor, and let people in the conference know I am still here."-said Lahens
Advancing to the 60-meter finals,
Kervin Mondesir trimmed a personal record by .06, crossing the finish line at 7.63 (5th place).
Running in the 200-meter event,
Tahkwai Wilson-Hill earned one point with his 24.71 (6th place) result.
Ahmed Algendy was York's lone field performer, finishing ninth in the shot put by achieving a mark of 8.81 meters.
Lahens, Wilson-Hill,
Marvin Mondesir, and Stuart combined for a 4x400 relay time of 3:54.44 (4th place).
Overall, CCNY won its 12th-consecutive season men's championship with 138 points while Hunter's 152 points claimed the women's title.
