www.YORKATHLETICS.com)Â York College's men's and women's track & field teams were back in action Saturday at the Pratt Institute Invitational, hosted at the Queens College Track & Field complex, combining for nine top-10 finishes along with multiple personal-best and season-best performances.
Men's Performance Breakdown
- Jashani Peters led the way in the 100-meter dash, placing 11th in a career-best 12.70.
- Wilkens Guervil finished eighth in his outdoor debut in the 200 meters for York's season-high performance, clocking 25.01, while Jashani Peters followed with a personal-best 26.18 (18th).
- Hammed Durojaye suited up for the first time, running the 800-meter race at 2:42.81 (14th).
- Michael Zhang delivered a standout distance performance, earning silver in the 3,000-meter run in 11:00.50.
- Shirra Jenkins recorded a career-best mark in the long jump, reaching 5.05 meters to place 11th and move into 10th on the CUNYAC Performance List.
- Jenkins continued his strong showing in the triple jump, securing third place with a leap of 9.26 meters.
- Brandon Smith posted a personal-best throw of 8.95 meters in the shot put to finish sixth, ranking ninth on the CUNYAC Performance List.
Women's Performance Breakdown
- Keanna Clouden paced York in the 100-meter dash, placing 12th in 15.10. A wave of personal-best performances followed in the event, with Ndieye Sagna (15.23, 14th), Bianca Burgin (16.32, 19th), Raylene Browne Alexander (16.50, 20th), Jordeena Jervis (17.18, 21st), and Stara Delphonse (18.88, 24th) rounding out the group.
- Clouden turned in York's season-best performance in the 200 meters, placing ninth in 30.86. McKenzie made her season debut in 31.42 (12th), while Sagna (31.94, 13th) and Delphonse (39.79, 19th) followed with personal-best efforts.
- In the long jump, McKenzie delivered York's season-leading mark with a leap of 3.90 meters (7th), while Sagna followed with a mark of 2.70 meters (8th).
- Browne Alexander secured eighth place with a career-best toss of 6.66 meters in the shot put, marking the team's best performance of the season, while Kristel Campbell made her debut for the Cardinals, finishing with a mark of 3.82 meter (13th).
- The quartet of Clouden, Sagna, Burgin, and McKenzie produced the team's best time of the campaign in the 4x100-meter relay, finishing fourth in 1:00.42 to rank fifth on the CUNYAC Performance List.
