Shawn Nemoto has been recognized by the the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) for the second time in his career as a Sportsmanship Award winner, announced Thursday by league officials in their release of its 2021 year-end awards.
Nemoto, a native of Floral Park, New York, was previously named the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award in 2018. York has now generated a CUNYAC Men's Cross Country Sportsmanship selection in three-consecutive seasons. He paced York at the 2021 CUNYAC Championships with a 21st place finish in 35:51.6 on the 8k course at Van Cortlandt Park. Nemoto competed in four of six meets for the Cardinals in 2021, and has ran in 13 meets in three seasons at York.
