LANGHORNE, PA--- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's cross country began their 2025 campaign Saturday morning at the Cairn University Highlander Challenge from the Cairn University campus.  Â
On the men's side,
Michael Zhang was York's top runner in the 8K course, crossing the finish line at 36:06.5 (65th).
Bryan Ortiz followed right behind with a career-best result of 36:18.8 (66th).
Chris Merilan turned in a time of 43:51.9 (110th).
Chase Ely of Williamson College of the Trades won the individual portion of the race with a time of 27:32.4, while Georgian Court University took home first prize with a team score of 70.
Keanna Clouden stood out for the Cardinal women, covering the 6K course in 40:03.0, good enough for 73rd place. Debuting on the cross country squad,
Alisha Adams (43:08.4) and
Sendya Deravin (56:11.8) placed 80th and 97th, respectively.Â
Immaculata University's Aubrey Donahue crossed the finish line in first at 24:26.5, and Lancaster Bible College authored a race-leading 62 team score.

The Cardinals return to competition next Saturday (Oct. 11) at the NJIT Invitational starting at 11:15 a.m. from Branch Brook Park in Newark, New Jersey.
