KINGS PARK, NY --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's cross country teams ran the Sunken Meadow State Park trails Saturday at the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Invitational in Kings Park, New York.
The Cardinal men finished in 20th place with 508 points as
Shawn Nemoto covered the 8k course in 35:06.33 to place 73rd.
Andrew George clocked in at 41:48 to finish 111th and
Glenver Stuart crossed the line 131st (46:55.44).
Shevon Walker followed in 133rd (48:17.23) while
Hakeem Griffiths (56:43.14) and
Anthony Esguerra (57:51.68) rounded out York's lineup in 139th and 141st, respectively.
Mohlouwa Koos Molutsi was the top performer in the field of 144 runners with a winning time of 26:56.00 to carry Monroe College (New Rochelle) to the team title with 50 points.
In the women's race,
Jaylene Coye was the lone Cardinal to compete. Coye registered a time of 29:43.74 on the 5k course to place 95th.
York did not register a team score as St. Thomas Aquinas University won the team title with 28 points. Aaliyah Moore of Monroe College (New Rochelle) was the top finisher and led a pack of 119 runners in 19:14.31.
York College is scheduled to return to the trails on October 31 at the CUNYAC Championships on the Van Cortlandt Park course starting at 9:30 a.m.
