BROOKLYN --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's swimming competed in CUNYAC action Friday night on the road against the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (M: 2-0 / W: 1-1) inside West Quad Center Pool.  The Cardinals collected victories in three races in a 110-56 setback in the women's meet and were downed 157-37 on the men's side.

Che'Rel Haywood won all three events she competed in to lead the Cardinal women.  She swam the third leg of the 200-yard medley relay in 30.03 to combine with Shanice Welcome, Mauricia Blake and Dorianny Rojas to win the 200-yard medley relay in 2:35.82.  Haywood also improved to 3-0 in both the 100-butterfly and 100-breaststroke races with victories. She won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:08.74 by a margin of +19.29 and also touched the wall by a stretch of 1.62 to claim victory in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:17.02.  

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Mary Cuevas, Madonna Adieb, Zariah Nelson and Anita Okoye teamed up to collect second place in 3:39.07.  Welcome posted a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle    in 2:34.07 and took third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:25.14).  Mauricia Blake (200-yard IM, 3:14.05) and Okoye (100-yard back, 2:15.05) posted third-place finishes in their respective events. 

On the men's side, Alex Winter paced the Cardinals with second-place showings in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:57.66) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.38) races.  Winter, Anthony Jordan, Arafath Hussain and Ti'Juan Boothe clocked a 1:46.38 to place second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Jaquan Eleazard, Anthony Nazario, Jr., Jamal Chesney and Chistopher Mendez placed second in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:33.12.  Hussain (100-yard freestyle, 1:03.05), Anthony Jordan (200-yard freestyle, 2:49.86) and Nazario (500-yard freestyle, 8:38.19) each recorded third-place finishes.  

The Cardinals (M: 0-3 / W: 0-3) return to the pool on November 23 in Delhi, New York at the SUNY Delhi Broncos Invitational starting at 1 p.m. inside Kunsela Hall Aquatics Center.
