York Swimming Wins Four Events but Falls to Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—The York College men's and women's swimming teams had some great individual performances but came up short as a team, losing to Brooklyn College on Thursday night.
 
The women lost 120-66, while the men fell 169-35.  Leading the way on the women's side was Perla Rosario and Kerry-Ann Bailey
 
Rosario won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 15:01.89 and Bailey won both the 50-yard freestyle (29.87) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:09.65).
 
John Castillo was the lone winner on the men's side, as he took first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:10.14.
 
Marissa Buchanan also performed well, placing second in the 1000-yard freestyle (15:01.89) and the 200-yard freestyle (2:44.75). 
 
The women are now 1-4 overall, 0-3 CUNYAC, while the men are 1-2, 0-1 CUNYAC.  The Cardinals now have a LONG break and will not return to action until January 11 at Staten Island.
