Men's Volleyball Now 4-0 in CUNYAC Play After Wins over Brooklyn and Lehman

BRONX, N.Y. — The York College men's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-17) win over Brooklyn College and a 3-1 (23-25, 25-14, 25-11, 25-17) triumph over Lehman College on Thursday evening to improve to 13-4 overall and 4-0 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.
The Cardinals have now won six straight and sit atop the CUNYAC standings. Their 13-4 mark is the best start to a season through 17 matches since the 1995 season. That season the Cardinals started out 15-2.

Reigning CUNYAC Rookie of the Week
Emmanuel Geffrard may be making a bid to repeat that honor, after leading the Cardinals with ten kills, while hitting .333 and adding seven digs.
Leszek Stankiewicz finished with nine kills and four digs and
Avinash Thomas had a team-leading 11 digs, to go along with nine assists.
Edner Geffrard led all players with five blocks, while also recording four kills, and libero,
Terrence Sutton had nine digs.
After narrowly dropping the first set, York picked things up to win the next three sets easily.
Brooklyn Recap
In the opening match against Brooklyn, York was paced by Stankiewicz, who finished with a match-high eight kills, while hitting .357 and recording four blocks.
Sebastien Francois added seven kills and
Kevin Mora and
Emmanuel Geffrard each had four.
Jon Peter Sardea had 19 assists at the setter position and Sutton finished with a match-best ten digs.
York will return to action on Saturday for a CUNYAC multi-match held at Brooklyn College. The Cardinals will take on CCNY at 9:00 a.m. and Hunter College at 1:00 p.m.
