Women’s Swimming Comes up Short Against John Jay

NEW YORK, N.Y— Averie Mohammed and Alexandra Castro each won a pair of events for the second straight night but it would be enough, as the York College women's swimming team fell to John Jay College by a score of 56-33 in a conference dual meet Tuesday night.

Mohammed was a winner in the 50-yard freestyle (29.77) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:09.57), while Alexandra Castro touched the wall first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:52.41) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:28.50).

The Blooudhounds came out on top in every other event, however, and took the meet.

York will return to action on Tuesday, when they host Lehman College at 6:00 p.m.
