GREENWOOD, IN --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced that York College men's volleyball setter Stanley Sanchez is one of 1,088 NCAA Division III scholar-athletes named to the 2025 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in five divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and the College Division.

Honorees named to the Academic All-District® team will be considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with the Men's At-Large Teams to be announced on July 9.

Capping off his third season with the men's volleyball program, Sanchez generated a career-best 694 assists across 78 sets, and finished top-five on the team in aces (20) and digs (81). Consistently orchestrating the Cardinal attack, he recorded 30+ assists 11 times, including a personal-high of 55 in consecutive contests against Bryn Athyn College (Feb. 15) and SUNY Old Westbury (Feb. 20). Offensively, Sanchez ranked 29th in the nation in assists per set with a career-best and CUNYAC-leading rate of 8.9. A significant contributor to York's first postseason appearance since 2016, the senior earned a spot on the 2025 CUNYAC Men's Volleyball Sportsmanship Team and received the 2024-25 York College Men's Volleyball Most Outstanding Award.  

An occupational therapy major with a 3.842 cumulative grade-point average, Sanchez is a five-time Dean's List honoree and has been named a CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection on five occasions. In addition to his volleyball success, Sanchez played three campaigns with the men's soccer squad, captaining the squad from 2023-24 and landing on the CUNYAC All-Star Second Team in 2022. York's star man netted a career-high five goals and 12 points in 2024, capturing a CUNYAC Player of the Week Honorable Mention laurel for his equalizing goal against Penn State Scranton (Sept. 11).

Sanchez joins Dawa Bhote, Maryam Khan, and Jasmine Vega as Cardinals who have received CSC All-District® recognition during the 2024-25 campaign. 

Outstanding student-athletes nominated for Academic All-District® recognition must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's total games.
