GREENWOOD, IN --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced that York College men's volleyball star Stanley Sanchez is one of 914 NCAA Division III honorees named to the 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Residing in East Elmhurst, Sanchez played his second season as a member of the men's volleyball program in 2024. Named to the CUNYAC Men's Volleyball Preseason Player to Watch list before the campaign, Sanchez made the switch to setter this season, totaling a team-high 347 assists from 65 sets. A consistent force in setting up his teammates, he had 10+ assists in 13 matches, 20+ assists in eight contests, and recorded a career-high 43 dimes in a home triumph over Sarah Lawrence on Senior Day. Overall, Sanchez finished 6th in the CUNYAC with 5.34 assists per set, which ranks 96th amongst Division III players. His dedication and drive throughout the campaign earned him a spot on the Men's Volleyball Sportsmanship Team as well. 

An occupational therapy major with a 3.858 cumulative grade-point average, Sanchez is a four-time Dean's List honoree and has been named a CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection on three occasions. In addition to his volleyball exploits, Sanchez has played two campaigns with the men's soccer squad, captaining the squad for eight matches in 2023 and landing on the CUNYAC All-Star Second Team in 2022. 

Sanchez joins Cherub Autar, Tyler Dazey, and Maryam Khan as Cardinals who have received CSC All-District® recognition during the 2023-24 campaign. 

Outstanding student-athletes nominated for Academic All-District® recognition must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's total games.
