FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College's Jasmin Rodriguez has been recognized Friday by the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) as a member of the softball Sportsmanship Team. With this laurel, York has generated CUNYAC Sportsmanship recognition for the seventh-consecutive season. 

Playing in 19 games, Rodriguez displayed her defensive versatility numerous times at the middle infield and outfield positions, finishing with the fourth-most assists on the team (15). At the plate, the rookie recorded her first career hit in a road match against Valley Forge (Mar. 16). The following day, Rodriguez had a career day with two runs, three RBI, and two stolen bases in the second leg of a twin bill at Yeshiva University.

"Jasmin has not played or started in many games, she has never questioned the decision nor showed displeasure. She is always upbeat and supportive of her teammates and will find something good to say even if they have a bad performance. A hard worker and the first to arrive for practice and games, Jasmin is seen alone hauling all the equipment without coaxing. Off the field, she tutors the team in math and Spanish. After a full day of classes and practice, she babysits her toddler sister because her mom works overnight."-head coach Tracey Marshall
