www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's swimming returned to action after a month hiatus Saturday afternoon in a non-conference tri-meet against the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (M: 6-1; W: 5-3) and the Bard College Raptors (M: 2-7; W: 2-6-1) inside Stevenson Athletic Center Pool. Â
The Raptors defeated the Cardinals 97-12 on the women's side and 49-30 against the men. Brooklyn overcame the York women 160-13 and claimed a 151-23 decision against the men.Â
Julia Wyman was York's solo competitor in the women's meet, collecting a pair of top-4 finishes. She dominated the 500-yard freestyle to win by 61.24 in a finish time of 7:06.26. Wyman also touched the wall fourth in the 50-yard freestyle at 29.86.
For the men,
Richard Reyes shined with two top-3 finishes. Reyes dominated the competition in the 500-yard freestyle, as his time of 6:52.48 finished 3:25.21 ahead of the closest competitor. Making his season debut in the 1,000-yard freestyle, Reyes added a second-place result of 14:36.98.
Jeremy Sapeg contributed a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle race at 37.58 as
Wood-by Paulemont clocked in at 41.67 to claim fourth. Sapeg and Paulemont also competed in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing sixth (1:34.88) and seventh (1:40.93), respectively. Â
