JAMAICA, NY --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) In an effort to address healthcare disparity, the Biden Administration and Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that the York College Health & Physical Education Building Gymnasium will serve as a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) community-based mass-vaccination site starting February 24. According to Governor Cuomo, York College will be the largest in the state thus far as the home of the Cardinals has the capacity to vaccinate 3,000 Queens residents per day serving as a national model for the equitable distribution of the COVID vaccine.
"We at York College are happy for the opportunity to serve our borough, city and state in the Herculean task of vaccinating New Yorkers," said President Berenecea Johnson Eanes. " I want to thank Governor Cuomo for recognizing York as an important resource, not just as an outstanding institution of higher learning, but also as an important community resource for social justice. We are ready to help in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic."
Eligible residents can make appointments for the State-FEMA Vaccination sites through New York's 'Am I Eligible' website (
