"It was especially rewarding for me to see our student-athletes become immersed in their efforts to not only recruit donors, but to explain the impact of their donations," said York head softball coach
Tracey Marshall.Â
Marshall, along with the efforts of student-athletes
Mary Cuevas,Â
Veena Karupen, Bryanna Lora Martinez, Kayla McLaughlin,
Melissa Noble,
Dorianny Rojas, Nayelly Rojas, Naya Solomon and
Kaithlyn Taylor directly impacted 285 lives by actively recruiting donors on campus.Â

"This meaningful experience for our program will last in their minds and hearts for a long time," added Marshall.Â
The Cardinal softball program also welcomed donors upon arrival, assisted with registration, escorting donors from the donor bed to canteen/refreshment tables as well as serving snacks and refreshments to donors. The program not only assisted and recruited for the bone marrow registry, they all became registrants.Â
"On behalf of the New York Blood Center, we thank the York College softball program for the outstanding support at the blood drive," said New York Blood Center account manager Armando Echeverry.
