JAMAICA, N.Y.—The York College women's swimming team returned to action Monday after a long lay-off to take on John Jay College. Despite winning the 200-meter freestyle relay, the Cardinals came up short, losing 116-45.

York won the final event of the night—the 200-free relay—in convincing fashion, as the team of Kerry-Ann Bailey, Kaithlyn Taylor, Evelyn Del Rosario and Perla Rosario swam a time of 2:47.20.  The time bested John Jay's team by ten seconds.  Bailey was the key to the victory as she jumped out to a big lead on the opening leg.

Unfortunately, that would be the only win of the night for York as John Jay took first in all the individual events and won the 200-meter medley relay as well.

The loss drops York to 0-5, 0-3 CUNYAC.  John Jay is 1-5, 1-4 CUNYAC. The Cardinals will host the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Thursday at 6 p.m.
