The York College men's volleyball team (12-20, 9-7 CUNYAC) has earned the #4 seed and will host a CUNYAC quarterfinal match as they take on fifth-seeded City College of New York (8-16, 7-9 CUNYAC) Tuesday, April 5th, at 7:30 pm.
Randy Adams leads York's volleyball team, averaging 3.3 kills a set and a hitting percentage over .300, which ranks sixth and third respectively in the CUNYAC. Right behind him is
Akeem George who averages close to two kills a set.
Jonathan Liao is the setter for the Cardinals and averages 5.28 assists a set on the year. On the defensive side,
Paramvir Singh averages 2.63 digs a set, which is third in the CUNYAC.
In the first meeting of this year, the Cardinals defeated CCNY, 3-1 (37-35, 25-20,17-25, 25-23).
Randy Adams compiled 19 kills and hit .500, to go along with ten aces and three blocks in the win. CCNY standout Sebastjano Aga, had 34 kills and 19 digs in a losing effort.
In the second match of the season, York defeated CCNY, 3-1 (25-27, 25-12, 25-15, 25-15).
Larry Moore had a big impact on the match as he had 12 kills to go along with a .500 hitting percentage.
Paramvir Singh had 15 digs on the night and
Jonathan Liao had 36 assists. For CCNY, it was Aga leading the way again as he had 31 kills for the Beavers. Aga leads the nation in kills, averaging 5.5 kills a set.
If York beats CCNY they would go on to face the winner of one-seeded Baruch and eight-seeded Staten Island Friday, April 8th at 6 pm.
