JAMAICA, N.Y. — The York College men's volleyball team has earned the #3 seed in the 2015 CUNYAC Men's Volleyball Championships and will host the #6 seed City College of New York in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.

Regular Season Review
York finished the season with a 15-17 overall record and 12-4 CUNYAC record.  After a rough 0-6 start, the Cardinals picked up their play in the second half to get within two games of .500.  The Cardinals played an extremely tough schedule this season, matching up against five ranked teams, including one against top-ranked Stevens Institute.

Randy Adams and Edner Geffrard have been York's top two players all season. Adams ranks seventh in the nation in aces per set (0.57) and is also 8th in the CUNYAC in hitting percentage (.269) and fourth in kills per set (3.08). Geffrard is sixth in the CUNYAC in kills per set (2.77) and ninth in digs per set (1.94).  Freshman Anson Webb and senior Sebastien Francois also had solid seasons.

CCNY finished at 7-21, 5-11 CUNYAC.  They've been led all year by their top player Anthony Reyes, who is leading all of Division III in kills per set (4.46), while also averaging 2.87 digs per set.

Previous Meetings
York won both meetings this year against CCNY, but the Beavers tested them in each match.  York won a five-setter on February 16 and later won in four sets on March 12.

Recent Tournament History
The Cardinals have made deep runs into the CUNYAC playoffs of late, advancing to the Championship match in both 2013 and 2014.  Unfortunately for York, their run ended there each time to Baruch College.

CCNY hasn't gotten past the quarterfinal round since 2008.  Three of those quarterfinal losses came at the hands of York College in consecutive years from 2010-2012.

Admission Information
Admission to the event—and all York athletic events—is free.  There were will also be concessions sold during the match, with the proceeds benefiting the Student Athletic Advisory Committee.  Should York win, they would play in the semifinals on Friday afternoon at Hunter College.  York would play the winner of Hunter and the College of Staten Island at 4 p.m.  The finals are also played later that evening at 8 p.m.
