BOX SCORE 2 NEW YORK, N.Y.- The York College men's volleyball team had a pair of dominant performances at the CUNY Athletic Conference multi-match held at Baruch College on Saturday. York started the day with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-17) win over John Jay College and then capped off the afternoon with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-9, 25-12) triumph over Medgar Evers College.In the opening match against the Bloodhounds, York hit .466 as a team—its third highest total of the season.
Randy Adams led the way for York, notching seven kills in just nine attempts (.778) with five digs.
Edner Geffrard had a team-high 13 kills and 12 digs.
Bryan Williams chipped in eight kills with a .429 hitting percentage, five aces and 11 digs, while
Avinash Thomas finished with six kills, 15 assists and eight digs.
In the win over Medgar Evers, it was the service game that won it for the Cardinals. York registered 18 aces, its highest total of the season.
Avinash Thomas accounted for the majority of those, as he served up ten aces.
Knudson Andre added five kills, with a .556 hitting percentage and
Jaquan DeJesus finished with 19 assists.
York (18-15, 10-2 CUNYAC) will close out the regular season on Tuesday with an important pair of games against Hunter College. The two matches will determine who will earn the #2 seed in the CUNYAC playoffs. That matches are slated to begin at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Hunter.
