Men’s Volleyball Wins Big over NYU-Poly and Mt. Ida
Cardinals Sweep Both Matches

JAMAICA N.Y. — The York College men's volleyball team dominated action in a home tri-match on Saturday afternoon, defeating NYU-Poly, 3-0 (25-15, 25-19-25-10), before topping Mount Ida College 3-0 (25-11. 25-14, 25-17).
York was never threatened in either match, jumping out to early leads and never looking back. The Cardinals held both teams to a negative hitting percentage, while hitting .352 over two matches. The two victories even up the Cardinals' record at 2-2, after they fell to two nationally ranked teams a week ago.
Against NYU-Poly,
Sebastien Francois led all players with ten kills and a .467 hitting percentage.
Leszek Stankiewicz finished with nine kills, ten digs, three aces and two blocks, while
Randy Adams recorded six kills and a .444 hitting percentage.
Against Mount Ida, York was led by
Bryan Williams, who slammed seven kills and hit .583. In the two matches, he combined for ten kills with no hitting errors. Stankiewicz had another good game, with eight kills, eight digs and six total blocks and
Avinash Thomas finished with five kills in five attempts and 17 assists.
In the second match of the afternoon, Mt. Ida defeated NYU-Poly, 3-0.
York will look to build off the impressive effort in their next match on Wednesday. The Cardinals will battle St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) at 8 p.m. Admission to the match is free!
