Women’s Swimming Falls to Hunter College

JAMAICA, N.Y. – The York College's women's swim team hosted Hunter College Tuesday night in their home opener, losing 123-53 to the Hawks.
 
Despite the loss, Alexandra Castro had a great performance on the night recording a total of 16 points for the Cardinals, coming in second place in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 33.71 and finishing second in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:40.00.  In addition, Marissa Buchanan came in second place in the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 13:23.45.
 
Vanessa Xue and Alexandra Rubiano both put on a great show for Hunter, coming in first place in two of their races.
 
The Cardinals will be back at it again next Friday November 14th, when they go on the road to take on Bard College and the College of Mt. St. Vincent at Annandale-on-Hudson at 7 p.m.
