JAMAICA, N.Y. – The York College women's basketball team had no answer for the College of Staten Island in the CUNY Athletic Conference opener on Tuesday night, losing by a score of 85-47.
Staten Island led from wire-to-wire and gradually increased its lead throughout the game. The Dolphins featured a balanced attack with four players scoring in double figures. Megan Myhre led the way with 17 points, while Lisa Galasso had 14 points and four assists.
In the loss, York got a nice effort off the bench from
Shauncia McClendon who recorded a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
Angelika Ruggiano added 11 points and five assists.
The Cardinals fall to 0-4, 0-1 CUNYAC in the loss, while CSI improves to 4-1, 1-0 CUNYAC. The Cardinals will visit NYU-Polytechnic on December 2 at 6 p.m.
