John Jay Bests York in Women’s Swimming
RESULTS
JAMAICA, N.Y— The York College women's swim team came out on the losing end of dual meet against conference-rival John Jay College on Tuesday night, falling by a score of 121-54.
York had two wins on the night, both coming once again from
Sandra Shamburger, who blew away the competition in her two events. Shamburger won the 50-meter freestyle in 30.02 and the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:26.35.
John Jay was led by Opal Getganipak, who won the 800-free and 100-free and Jezebel Erazo, who touched the wall first in the 200-free and 100-fly.
The Bloodhounds improve to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the CUNYAC. York falls to 0-8 and 0-4 in CUNYAC play. The Cardinals will host Hunter College on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
