BOX SCORE 1 |
BOX SCORE 2 VIRGINIA BEACH, V.A.— The York College softball season opened up on Saturday at the Virginia Wesleyan College Beach Blast tournament. The Cardinals dropped the two games on Friday to Wilkes University and Pitt-Greensburg respectively. Their two scheduled games on Saturday were rained out and will not be made up.
York struggled mightily in both contests as they lost 27-0 to Wilkes and 20-0 to Pitt-Greensburg. Both games were out of reach early as Wilkes jumped out to a 15-0 lead after one inning and Pitt-Greensburg put up 12 in the opening frame.
The Cardinals were stifled offensively as well, as they could only muster three hits combined in the two games.
York will be idle until March 18, when they host the College of New Rochelle at noon.
