NEW YORK, NY— The York College softball team was overmatched by conference-foe Baruch College in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats combined for 46 hits in two games as they defeated the Cardinals 15-1 and 23-0 respectively.
It would prove to be a long afternoon for York as the Bearcat offense was relentless. They put up crooked numbers in each of the first three innings of game one. In game two, a huge 16-run, third inning was the difference. The Baruch pitching also stifled the York bats, holding the Cardinals to just a combined four hits on the day.
The Bearcats improve to 5-9, 2-0 in the CUNYAC, while York drops to 2-6, 0-4 in the CUNYAC. The Cardinals will visit Lehman College on Monday at 5:00 p.m.
