Men’s Volleyball Now 2-0 in Conference with Win over Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y—The York College men's volleyball team improved to 2-0 in CUNY Athletic Conference Play (5-4 overall) with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-20, 25-23) victory over Brooklyn College Thursday night.

Edner Geffrard had another outstanding game, recording 17 kills and a .500 hitting percentage.
Bryan Williams added 13 kills (.345) to go along with eight digs and libero

York had no trouble in the first set, jumping out to a 14-2 advantage and never looking back. But the Cardinals had to gut out the second and third sets to win the match. The second set was separated by two or three points for the majority of the time until York scored on four of the final five points to take the set 25-20. The third set was even closer, with York benefiting from a pair of errors by Brooklyn, which broke a 23-23 tie and gave the Cardinals the match.
The Bulldogs were led by Duong Thai in defeat, who had eight kills. David Rafailov added seven kills as Brooklyn fell to 0-4, 0-3 in the CUNYAC.
York will travel to Cambridge, Massachusetts for a tournament at Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday and Sunday.
