Struggles Continue for Women's Basketball in Loss to Hunter College

NEW YORK, N.Y.—The York College women's basketball team had a rough outing on Wednesday night, falling to conference-rival Hunter College by a score of 77-38.
The Cardinals were held stifled by Hunter's defense all night long, shooting just 20 percent on the night and giving up 28 turnovers. Meanwhile, the Hawks shot a solid 45 percent from the field and converted those York turnovers into 31 points.
The Hawks had three players in double-figures on the evening, led by Megan McKenna who netted 19 points, while also grabbing seven boards. Shatira Hamlet added 12 points and Kristen Markoe finished with 11.
York had a strong effort from
Ishonda McFarland who registered a double-double, grabbing 19 rebounds and scoring 10 points.
Shadae Rice added seven points, four rebounds and four assists.
The Hawks improve to 7-11, 5-1 in the CUNYAC, while York drops to 1-16, 1-5 in the CUNYAC. York will host Baruch College on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
