Sutton Leads York in Win over St. Joseph’s

NEW YORK, NY— York College freshman Terrence Sutton slammed 11 kills on 12 attempts for a hitting percentage of .917, to lead the Cardinals men's volleyball team to an convincing, 3-0 (25-13, 25-6, 25-13), victory over St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Friday night.
Also coming up big for York was Alex Niles, who filled in at setter, recording 25 assists and five aces. Freshman Ahmed Helmi added six kills and five aces, while Jhonnattan Fernandez also registered six kills. Tobi Awopetu finished with five kills and three aces.
The Cardinals held St. Joseph's to a -.391 hitting percentage while also recording 19 aces compared to just two for St. Joseph's.
With the win, York improves to 11-11 overall. They will host Wentworth on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
