York Drops Two Games to John Jay College

, NY— The York College softball team struggled against rival John Jay College, losing 9-0 and 11-0 in a doubleheader played at the College of Staten Island on Thursday afternoon.

 

John Jay pounded out a combined 25 hits in the two games, while holding the York offense to just six hits combined.  York continued to struggle in the field as errors led to two unearned runs in game one and four unearned runs in the nightcap. 

 

Kim BiFulco went 2-2 with three RBI's to lead John Jay in game one, while Sarah Balgobin led John Jay in game two, going 3-3 with an RBI.

 
Thessaly Belizario was the lone York player to record multiple hits on the day, going a combined 2-3. 

 

With the loss, York drops to 0-12, 0-4 in the CUNYAC, while John Jay improves to 6-5, 4-3 in CUNYAC play.  York will host Sarah Lawrence on Saturday at noon.
