Game One Box Score
Game Two Box Score
BROOKLYN, NY— The York College softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader to St. Joseph's College (BK) on Thursday afternoon. The Lady Cardinals dropped game one, 12-4 and game two, 10-2.
Poor fielding was the main culprit in the two losses. York committed 13 errors combined, which led to 16 unearned runs in the two contests. In game one, the Lady Bears put up eight runs in the top of the second inning, putting the game out of reach early. York managed to put together a nice rally in the final inning, scoring four runs after being held out without a hit for the first four innings. Joviette Frederick, Jennifer Duverge, Meriem Alahiane and Renita Raghubir each had RBI's in the inning.
Game two was competitive until the Lady Bears pulled away late. St. Joseph's scored two in the fourth, two in the fifth and four in the sixth, to put the game out of reach. York pitcher Renita Raghubir pitched well, allowing five hits and two earned runs in six innings.
With the two losses, York drops to 0-8 on the season. St. Joseph's improves to 7-5. The Lady Cardinals will return to action on Saturday at noon when they visit the College of Staten Island.
