Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY— The York College men's volleyball team earned a rather hard-fought sweep of Brooklyn College winning 3-0 (30-25, 30-26, 30-28) in CUNYAC match Tuesday night.
Although the Cardinals won in straight sets, York had to work hard to win, especially in the final set, which came down to the last point. A kill by Alex Niles on the final point sealed the victory.
Brian Francisco led all players with 13 kills and 16 digs and Aruni Piantini recorded a match-high 43 assists. Kenan Kajtezovic added ten kills and seven digs, while Niles slammed nine kills and had eight digs.
Brooklyn was led by Mohamed Taman who finished with ten kills and eight digs. Guillerm Melosevich had 28 assists.
York improves to 11-12, 7-6 in the CUNYAC, while Brooklyn falls to 2-14, 2-11 in the CUNYAC. The Cardinals will hose St. Joseph's College (BK) on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
