Men’s Volleyball Sweeps CCNY

JAMAICA, N.Y. – Bryan Williams slammed 12 kills and served up four aces to lead the York College men's volleyball team to 3-0 (30-23, 30-18, 30-27) win over the City College of New York in a CUNY Athletic Conference match Thursday evening.
Williams hit at a .294 percentage and his 12 kills and four aces were a match-high. Arturo Cabrera Jr. added seven kills and Brian Francisco blocked six shots as the Cardinals improved to 10-11, 6-5 in the CUNYAC.
Leading 14-8 in the second set, York ran off nine out of the next ten points to pull away and take the set easily. The third set was a little more difficult for the Cardinals. York trailed 27-26 in the third set but York rallied to score the final four points and take the match.
CCNY was led by Matthew Ng, who scored a team-high nine kills. Jonathan Aguirre added ten digs and 21 assists. The Beavers fell to 5-12, 3-4 in the CUNYAC.
York will be idle until next Tuesday, when they visit Lehman College on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
