York Tops Medgar Evers and Brooklyn at Multi-Match

NEW YORK, NY— Brian Francisco and Arturo Cabrera Jr. each recorded a combined 28 kills to lead the York College men's volleyball team to a pair of victories at the CUNY Athletic Conference multi-match on Saturday morning. The Cardinals defeated Medgar Evers College 3-0 (30-24, 30-17, 30-16) in the opening match and then defeated Brooklyn College 3-0 (30-16, 30-22, 30-19).

Francisco picked up 17 kills, six digs and seven blocks and Cabrera added 15 kills, six digs and five blocks as York swept the season series from the Cougars. Aruni Piantini added a match-high 32 assists, while also recording eight digs. Alex Niles led all players with eight digs, while slamming six kills.
Brooklyn Recap
Cabrera led all players with 13 kills and 15 digs and Francisco and Kenan Kajtezovic each added 11 kills. Jeff Walcott finished with seven kills and Alex Niles added six kills and six digs.
York now stands at 9-11 overall and is 5-5 in the CUNYAC. They will visit CCNY on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
