Men’s Volleyball Drops Season-Opener to Mt. St. Vincent

, NY – The York College men's volleyball team dropped its season-opening match to the College of Mt. St. Vincent, falling by a score of 3-0 (30-26, 30-28, 30-16) on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Cardinals fought hard the first two sets, fighting off a number of set points until the Dolphins finally finished it off.  Arturo Cabrera Jr. led York (0-1) with six kills, while Alex Niles added five kills with a team-leading .400 hitting percentage. Bryan Williams led York in digs with seven and Aruni Piantini finished with ten assists.  

 

Mt. St. Vincent (1-0) was led by David Guerrero who recorded a match-high 17 kills in the win.  Rob Hockenjos added ten kills.

 

York will take on Yeshiva and Purchase in a tri-match on Sunday.
