Game One Box Score
Game Two Box Score
QUEENS, NY— The York College softball team dropped a doubleheader to the College of Staten Island, losing 12-0 and 14-0 in the final conference game of the season. The two losses eliminate York from playoff contention.
The Lady Cardinals struggled with their defense committing 11 combined errors in the game which led to 13 unearned runs for Staten Island. That, coupled with a lack of offense (only six hits combined) were the main reasons behind the rout.
Danielle Ponsiglione tossed five innings, striking out five, while allowing just two hits to earn the win in game one.
Michelle Ferraiuolo earned the win in game two, going five innings and striking out eight batters.
Brittany Patalano was the only member of the Lady Cardinals to collect multiple hits, going a combined 2-5 on the day.
York will close out its regular season with a trip to the College of New Rochelle on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
