BROOKLYN, NY— The York College men's volleyball team opened its conference schedule with a win over Medgar Evers College Tuesday night.  The Cardinals defeated the Cougars 3-0 (30-12, 30-11, 30-16) to improve to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.

Freshman standout's Brian Francisco and Roger Subervi each recorded a match-high seven kills to lead York.  Francisco also led York with 13 digs, while Subervi added 11.  Alex Niles also had a big game, blocking five shots and adding six kills. At setter, Aruni Piantini had 28 assists and four digs. 

York will host New Jersey City University on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
